Wildheart Nature School
"Our Homeschool Programs consist of outings that provide adventure and rich learning opportunities for children ages 6 – 12. The program is open to all families, even if you do not Homeschool. Investing time outdoors learning, playing, and exploring has countless benefits for children’s emotions, physical health, social development, and happiness. According to Aurora Early Childhood Education, mixed-age learning environments nurture early childhood learning and leadership, help kids establish a sense of uniqueness, encourage cooperation over competition, introduce new ways for kids to develop and grow, and help kids grow more confident. In the Homeschool Programs, we allow participants to experience and study the land they call home.
Each class has a unique and fun theme such as “Primitive Skills” and “Local Animals.” Although we follow a curriculum, we also welcome spontaneous exploration, investigation, and intuitive changes of focus. Our learning philosophies and many of our activities are inspired by Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature by Jon Young, Ellen Haas, and Evan McGown. Much of our curriculum has been developed by us as well. We facilitate a variety of activities such as nature arts and crafts, attuning to the wild, tracking, primitive skills, survival skills, nature songs, and much more! Along with the in person classes, we also give parents tools for continuing the learning at home through follow-up exercises and resources. You are welcome to sign up for as many of these sessions as you want."

TimberNook
"TimberNook programs offer the ultimate sensory experience for children, challenging the mind, body and the senses through meaningful outdoor play opportunities. Each experience is unique to the location, provider, and group of children, and includes unstructured play in sensory-rich learning environments to further enhance play schemes.
TimberNook is not your typical nature program. TimberNook programs intricately weave the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors with a thorough understanding of child development and alternative education. The result is a sensory play experience that supports every aspect of the growing child. We do this by skillfully using the environment as inspiration for creative play opportunities.
Providers often speak of the “magic” they witness at TimberNook, even over the course of just one week. Children of all abilities are able to challenge their social, emotional, sensory, and cognitive skills at TimberNook, the therapeutic benefits of which are vast and often surprising to all involved. Tinkergarten
"The program is designed to build community over 9 weeks per season with the same families, however, shorter options are available if needed. I guide families through songs, movement, a story, an invitation to play, and close with organic tea. One hour in-person per week, with online resources and a class photo album to inspire play all week long. Each season, children will explore one of 8 essential focus skills, and this winter our focus is persistence!"

Nighthawk Naturalist School
"We teach through a style that balances inquiry with giving real information and answers. We teach by a curriculum outline throughout the year, but we also value flexibility and a level of student-led learning. So, we allow for wiggle room on the topics we cover, the activities we do, and the craft projects we take on with the students. Our curriculum for this program, like all of our programs, even those for adults, dovetail with the seasons. So, we let the weather and seasons guide what we do.
All days will be immersive, interactive, hands-on, inquiry-based, and hold the goal of nature connection. Some daily topics are: stealth and natural camouflage, wildlife tracking and trailing, wild edibles and plant explorations, archery and atlatls, animal adaptations exploration, fire making, shelter building, birds and bird language, making potions and medicines with plants, fiber arts and plant dyes, carving/knife safety, pottery, leather crafting, scavenger hunts, and more!"
