Our Purpose
​

Homeschooling is an exciting and challenging adventure that hundreds of families today in the area are taking on. It can be both liberating and isolating; life-giving and scary all at the same time. It can also be very lonely at times, hard to nagivate and difficult to find community and where you and your children fit in with others. At most people's CORE is a desire to build relationships and ultimately good friendships, have community, and learn and grow from one another. 

Therefore, Central Oregon's Homeschool Resource Community was formed from a desire for homeschooling families to have one place where they could easily explore the current options for them in their area. It was to bring together collective knowledge that often can be hard to piece together on one's own, and show how much there is available to us right here in our neighborhoods.  ​

It also stemmed from wanting homeschooling families to thrive and discover what works best for their teaching and learning styles and to find where they could fit in, join in, and embrace more community. Homeschooling can feel like you are on an island sometimes, so this was meant to bridge those gaps and help bring more connections for homeschooling families by highlighting the current and ever-growing programs and available activities in Central Oregon.  ​

What to Expect Here

This site is not an endorsement of every program, nor will every group have been thoroughly vetted/looked into. It is meant to show everything available in one location and just highlight what the groups do or the distinctions between them. I would highly suggest looking closely into each resource for yourself. ​It is still at each person's discretion to more closely research each group or program to find what works best for them.
Current and Active Groups/Activties

All listings of groups, programs, and additional extracurricular acitivties will be established and currently active. This allows for families to access groups they can join now.

Anything not fully "formed" or in the process of being created will be listed under "In the Works." This allows you to see what could be coming and how to join in helping start something that may be of interest to you.

Patience is a Virtue
I am thrilled to get to create this website and hope it can benefit dozens of familes with new resources, connections, and hopefully some lifelong friendships and new community. 

I will absolutely do my best to continue to update the site as I am able and add in what I can or what fits the purpose of this site. However, there may be some times it takes me a bit to respond or add something in. Please know I am doing my best, and you can always reach out to me again if it seems something has been forgotten and it's been an extended period of time since you contacted me about it. I do want to make sure info is always accurate, so please let me know if there is something mistyped or incorrect. 

My husband, four sweet kids, homeschooling, and teaching outside the home will get my first energy, thank you for understanding if some things are not instant.
